Safeguard represents over 60 years of leadership in the small business arena as a single, convenient source for business and promotional printing through independent distributors who are committed to a total service approach.
Karen Price & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1982 with the purchase of a small base of existing Safeguard customers. Our primary product at that time was manual, one-write accounting systems. In her previous business experience, Karen saw many small business owners who had a unique talent or skill, but struggled because they lacked the financial, management, or marketing skills to run a business. With her belief that small business is a vital part of the American economy, she wanted to contribute to those businesses learning and flourishing.
Our goal is to create an exceptional customer experience where our customers know they can depend on us for accurate, quality products to help them manage and grow their business by providing the information the owner needs to make good decisions. This enables them to better serve their customers, thus allowing their dreams and goals to unfold.
As technology evolved, we responded to our customers’ requests for additional products with the same dependable service they had come to count on. Many of the companies in our original base continue to rely on us today for checks, as well as other business and promotional printing. We are proud to have one of the highest retention rates in the industry with a high number of customers who have been working with us continuously for over 15 years.
The development of professional relationships with accountants, bankers, bookkeepers, and software consultants enabled us to grow a strong, diverse customer base. Our experience across many industries brings a high level of knowledge and expertise to our customers. We are a team with almost 100 years of combined business experience that consults with busy, growing companies to develop creative solutions that provide impactful results.
Our Team
Karen Price
Karen loves working with small businesses and appreciates the diverse kinds of companies she has had an opportunity to work with since 1982. She enjoys learning and sharing ideas to improve operations and marketing, including actively implementing E-Myth principles from four years of coaching. Karen enjoys travel, reading, and taking her four grandchildren out for ice cream. She is an avid Star Wars fan, and active in her church.
Rebecca Kiefer
Rebecca jokes about eating Safeguard Cheerios and graduating from Safeguard College. As Karen’s step-daughter, Rebecca has worked on projects such as filing and mailings since the age of 14. Twenty eight years have passed and Rebecca is now in charge of keeping communication flowing between the office and our valued customers, writing systems so that the office can continue to run smoothly, and works to build a base of Ravings Fans. Rebecca is married and has three children, ages 22, 14, and 13. She loves to travel, read, and hang out with the youth at her church.
Cathy James
Cathy James has been a part of the team since June 2002. As the Operations Manager she oversees the day-to-day running of the office to ensure customer satisfaction at all levels and can be heard laughing and building relationships with customers throughout the day. She is a native of Pensacola, FL and earned her BS in marketing at the University of West Florida. She is an early riser, avid reader and loves to travel. Cathy is married and she and her husband have 3 children between them ages 18, 13 & 2. Their other "child" and love is their Rottweiler, Othello.
Stacy Davis
Stacy is our resident technology expert and has been with our team for two years. She is often your first point of contact when you call in for help. Her background includes restaurant management and training, with the excitement and fun of opening new locations around the country. She also spent four years as the office administrator for a law firm. Stacy’s diverse experience allows her to offer innovative solutions to the problems that our small business customers face daily. Raised in Augusta, she now lives in the metro area with her husband.
